WHERE ARE ALL OF THE SUPERHEROES OF TODAY?

LET ME TELL YOU A SECRET. MANY PEOPLE DON’T KNOW THAT WHILE I APPEAR AS A OUTGOING AND SOCIAL INDIVIDUAL, IN REALITY, I’M AN INTROVERT. FOR THOSE WHO DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS I ENJOY BEING BY MYSELF MORE THAN BEING WITH PEOPLE. THAT’S ACTUALLY ONLY A HALF TRUTH. I CAN, NEED AND THRIVE ON SOCIAL CONTACT. BUT I ALWAYS GET RECHARGED AND DRAW STRENGTH FROM DOING THINGS LIKE READING, WRITING, AND MY FAVORITE, STUDYING. BASICALLY I’M A SUPER SOCIAL NERD!

I HAVE MANY FIELDS OF STUDY, SOME SURPRISING SO. FOR EXAMPLE, I AM A HUGE HISTORY FAN. MY SPECIALTY IS KNOWING TRIVIA ABOUT EVERY WAR OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY. I KNOW A LOT ABOUT THE WEAPONS AND VEHICLES USED, AS WELL AS THE MAJOR PERSONALITIES INVOLVED. I KNOW PLENTY ABOUT TROOP MOVEMENTS, AND THE STRATEGIC PLANS THEY USED. YOU’D THINK THAT I SHOULD HAVE GONE TO WEST POINT OR ANNAPOLIS AFTER HS, OR AT LEAST ENROLLED IN THE MILITARY. SADLY NEITHER THING HAPPENED TO ME. I ALWAYS BELIEVED SOMEDAY ALL OF THIS “KNOWLEDGE” WILL BE USED FOR SOMETHING GREAT.

ANOTHER AREA I HAVE READ AND STUDIED EXTENSIVELY IS THE REBIRTH AND RISE OF PENTECOSTALISM IN THE NINETEENTH AND TWENTIETH CENTURY. I HAVE READ A LOT ABOUT THE MEN AND WOMEN GOD USED TO IGNITE THE FIRES OF PENTECOST HERE IN THE US AND OVERSEAS. IT’S BEEN AMAZING HOW THESE ORDINARY PEOPLE BECAME EXTRAORDINARY WHEN GOD IMPARTED HIS POWER AND ABILITY IN THEM. YOU RARELY HEAR ABOUT THESE GREAT MODERN DAY HEROES OF THE FAITH THESE DAYS. WHERE ARE THE MODERN DAY BILLY SUNDAYS, THE JOHN ALEXANDER DOWIES, THE MARY WOODSWORTH EDDERS, THE SMITH WIGGLESWORTHS?

My experience at PODD for Men’s Fellowship

Being at the PODD felt like being at home, but I’m all grown up now . Don’t get me wrong. I loved the praise and worship music team. They really brought us into the presence of God. I loved rejoining with my brothers in Christ. It was good greeting my former pastor and friend. It’s felt good remembering all of the good times, and the not so good times we had there. But I’m not supposed to remain there. Now I belong to a new church, and a new body of believers. Eventually, I had to leave for my new home , and be with my new family .

Dealing with marital differences

I find the more I talk to people, the more they tell me the number one thing that is frustrating them in marriage, they don’t understand their spouse . Men don’t understand women, women don’t understand men. Being around women most of the time has given me some insight on how they think, how they feel, and how they react to situations. Guess what guys? God made them different from us. But thank God, He gives us the blueprint to help us, the Bible. My suggestion is this: Whenever you feel really frustrated or anxious about your wife’s behavior and her attitude, take your Bible and go into your prayer closet. Pray this prayer, “Father God, please change ME to deal with my wife in a way that honors you”. Right now, I probably lost 99% of you with that prayer. I know you would rather be like James and John and ask the Lord to rain down fire on your wife’s head. Maybe then she would submit herself to your leadership. But trust me on this.
