BLOG- 2010 REMEMBRANCES

2010 WAS A YEAR OF TRANSITIONS FOR ME 1ST YEAR W/O MY DAD WHICH LED TO SOME OF THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES OF MY LIFE, EMOTIONALLY, SPIRITUALLY, FINANCIALLY THIS YEAR WAS ONE OF THE HARDEST I’VE EVER HAD TO GO THROUGH. THE LOSS OF MY FATHER HAD IMPACTED ME GREATLY. I HAD STRONG CHALLENGES AT MY JOB WITH MY CO-WORKERS. I SAW CHALLENGES IN ALMOST EVERY AREA, ESPECIALLY IN THE EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL REALM, TO THE POINT THAT PEOPLE THOUGHT I WAS EXPERIENCING A MIDLIFE CRISIS OR A MENTAL BREAKDOWN. I WAS MISUNDERSTOOD AND CHALLENGED ON MY LIFELONG BELIEFS. BUT IN GOING THROUGH THOSE CHALLENGES, I’VE REDEDICATED MYSELF TO A BETTER WAY OF LIVING. I’VE BEEN TOTALLY TRANSFORMED AND I REDISCOVERED THE SOURCE OF MY STRENGTH. THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER WAS THAT GOD WAS EXPECTING ME TO GROW UP AND MATURE TO AN EVEN HIGHER LEVEL THAN EVER BEFORE. I’VE FACED THE CHALLENGES WITH A MIX OF COURAGE AND WITH TOTAL HUMILITY AND RELIANCE IN HIM. I HAVE SOUGHT OUT AND FOUND WISE, KNOWLEDGEABLE COUNSELORS TO HELP ME U...

Holiday Message 2010

In the spirit of this season, I’m just going to let the Word do most of the talking. Merry Christmas! OUR HEARTS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL, EMMANUEL, GOD WITH US, Isaiah 9:6-7 “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” NIV HE CAME IN THE WAY THAT MOST PEOPLE THEN AND NOW DIDN ’T EXPECT John 1:10-11 “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.” NIV THE PROPHETS KNEW, THEY WERE GIVEN THE LOCATION FOR THE SAVIOR’S BIRTH, Micah 5:2 “ But you...

IS IT A CHURCH OR A CULT?

Just recently, I was talking to a dear sister in Christ that I met several years ago. We were discussing a local church and how it had changed over time. I expressed that even though I understood what the pastor’s point of view was, I no longer felt comfortable being a part of that group anymore. After our discussion, it just confirmed to me several things that have been thinking about. If the place you’re attending is driven to doing anything that isn’t in line with the overall council of God’s Word, you might be, dare I say it, seduced into following something that could be dangerous. Remember the movie, “Basic Instinct,” with Michael Douglas, and Sharon Stone? Sometimes things that seem good, lead to terrible mistakes and major disasters. Following a local body that is personality-driven is always a mistake; Following a specific program in exclsion to everything else is also a recipe for disaster. Putting them together is like shaking nitro glycerin, something catastrophic will resu...

SEEKING AFTER PERFECTION IN AN IMPERFECT WORLD

If you're looking for the perfect church, prepare to be disappointed! Even if it was perfect, it probably wouldn't be after you joined! Grocho Marx said that he’d never join any organization that accepted him as a member. This is one of the biggest excuses why people don’t join a local church. They feel the people in leadership are hypocrites. But in truth, there are no perfect people inside nor outside of church. The ministry leadership are regular people trying their best to follow after Christ. That doesn’t mean that we should reject them when they make mistakes. No one on the earth is 100% perfect. There was only one who was, and now He waits for us in heaven. We’ll only reach perfection when He takes us home. The ones who point their fingers at pastors and leaders are themselves full of sinful flesh, just like those in leadership. I say it again for emphasis; no one is perfect . We cannot live this life without the power of the Holy Ghost residing inside our reborn spirits...
