SHARP AXE HANDLE TEACHING

HOSEA 4:6 (KJV)
6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”

As someone who was trained, instructed, and is still influenced by the Word of Faith Movement, this was one of our most quoted bible messages. To this day, that scripture continues influencing my thoughts and behavior.

It’s very easy to “hear and word from God” and get excited about it. There’s nothing wrong with that.  But many times, it’s also important to read the entire Bible passage.

Because I’ve read that Bible scripture many times, I must have thought that I didn’t need to continue reading what followed afterwards. You might know what I mean; sometimes we all get a little too full of ourselves, perhaps we even feel like we know it all, and become a little too proud. In either case, I would have benefited by reading what followed…

“because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God…”

Now, if you satisfied with just sitting in the church pew, week after week, if you just want to hear something that tickles your ears, and makes you jump up and dance in the aisles, or aren’t looking to get serious with your relationship with God, then you should stop reading now. What I have to say involves some hard work, total dedication, consistency, and something your average, every day Christians never develops in their lives…DISCIPLINE!

Now for those who’re still with me, please hear what I’m about to say… this is what I felt God was saying after reading that passage…

If you’re devoted to becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ… We’re supposed to study and develop a deeper revelation and more intimate understanding of BOTH God and His Word.

By reading the whole chapter and studying the entire book, you’ll develop a thorough knowledge of the lessons God was teaching his people.

As always, I'd like to hear your comments. If you like what I posted, please tell others! Even if you don't agree with what I'm saying, I'd like to know that also.

In Christ,

Al

  1. Discipline is the toughest thing for Christians, but absolutely vital if we are going to maintain a consistent witness for the Kingdom. Thanks for the post!

HAVE YOU BEEN POISONED?

How you can tell when you’ve been poisoned . Your actions and attitudes are toxic ! Toxic thoughts lead to toxic actions. Toxic thinking poisons others around us. Eventually toxic thinking leads to death (dreams). Watch out that the toxics around you don’t get inside you . How do you counteract toxicity? Speaking, thinking and acting positive activates life in you, around you, and gives life (energy) to others.

My experience at PODD for Men’s Fellowship

Being at the PODD felt like being at home, but I’m all grown up now . Don’t get me wrong. I loved the praise and worship music team. They really brought us into the presence of God. I loved rejoining with my brothers in Christ. It was good greeting my former pastor and friend. It’s felt good remembering all of the good times, and the not so good times we had there. But I’m not supposed to remain there. Now I belong to a new church, and a new body of believers. Eventually, I had to leave for my new home , and be with my new family .

Dealing with marital differences

I find the more I talk to people, the more they tell me the number one thing that is frustrating them in marriage, they don’t understand their spouse . Men don’t understand women, women don’t understand men. Being around women most of the time has given me some insight on how they think, how they feel, and how they react to situations. Guess what guys? God made them different from us. But thank God, He gives us the blueprint to help us, the Bible. My suggestion is this: Whenever you feel really frustrated or anxious about your wife’s behavior and her attitude, take your Bible and go into your prayer closet. Pray this prayer, “Father God, please change ME to deal with my wife in a way that honors you”. Right now, I probably lost 99% of you with that prayer. I know you would rather be like James and John and ask the Lord to rain down fire on your wife’s head. Maybe then she would submit herself to your leadership. But trust me on this. If you are truly seeking God’s will for your life, y...
